A Hannover Messe event held its inaugural exhibition in Singapore from 16-18 October 2018. The Industrial Transformation-Asia Pacific (ITAP) attracted many exhibitors from the Asia-Pacific and out of the many, 42 exhibitors were part of the Singapore Pavilion, which was organised by the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF).

18 October 2018 – A Hannover Messe event held its inaugural exhibition in Singapore from 16-18 October 2018. The Industrial Transformation-Asia Pacific (ITAP) attracted many exhibitors from the Asia-Pacific and out of the many, 42 exhibitors were part of the Singapore Pavilion, which was organised by the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF).

SMF organised an SG Pavilion that housed 42 Singapore companies at the inaugural ITAP event.

These 42 exhibitors displayed their innovation, technology, and products during the duration of the event, attracting many interested visitors from the Asia-Pacific region. One such company was Creatz3D Pte Ltd. Displaying a colourful plate of ‘sushi’, they attracted people to their booth and showed their ability to make products look real through 3D printing. Another exhibitor was Hope Technik Pte Ltd, where they showcased their Exoskeleton, a specially designed suit that assists workers in lifting heavy weights.

Another exhibitor under the SG Pavilion, Hope Technik Pte Ltd showcased their Exoskeleton, a  specially designed suit that helps workers lift heavy weights.

During the first day of ITAP, SMF also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with JTC Corporation, Enterprise Singapore (ESG), PBA Group, ABB Pte Ltd, SICK Pte Ltd, Nordson S.E. Asia (Pte) Limited, SMC Pneumatics (SEA) Pte Ltd, Robotics Automation Centre of Excellence, and Singapore Precision Engineering and Technology Association. This MOU is entered to help companies - especially SMEs – in JTC’s estates and developments to upgrade their manufacturing capabilities. SMF will assist in publicising the initiative to the member-companies. SMF will also provide support through consultancy, training and advisory services by leveraging on the services of SMF’s Centres of Excellence, including Singapore Innovation and Productivity Institute (SIPI), Centre for Corporate Learning (CCL), and Singapore Practising Management Consultants Certification (SPMCC).

SMF President, Mr. Douglas Foo signed the MOU with JTC Corporation and other companies' representatives.

SMF’s Honorary Secretary Mr. Saw Ken Wye, was also interviewed by THE MATTER, a Thai web publication, where he was asked about Singapore’s journey to becoming a Smart City through the implementation of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.
