Sustainable Manufacturing (SMC) annual conference

Singapore Manufacturing Federation - Standards Development Organisation (SMF-SDO) supported SIMTech’s Sustainable Manufacturing (SMC) annual conference 2017 on 2 Nov 2017. Ms Tan Shiuh Ming, GM of SMF-SDO shared on the National Standardisation Programme whilst our standard partner, Dr Jonathan Low presented the methodology in food waste reduction. This conference focused on maximising the use of generated wastes within the value chain of manufacturing. Waste reduction through Standards and methodology in tackling food waste allows food processing/manufacturing establishments to have cost saving on commodities, labour, energy and disposal costs. This conference attracted 178 participants from 78 organisations.
